Can You handle the Truth?
Information on this subject is not freely available because nobody really wants “the silly ones” to abuse services, spam or subvert the key values of “social” media…whatever that means. Big companies have the muscle and the money to engage some serious hardware and some influential people, but you my fettered friend can post your pointless prose only once,… hardly seems fair, does it?
That said, there are great tools, often free and easy to use. All you need is a little bit of common sense in the application of those tools.
How many times do you see a coke ad or listen to a No.1 song before “it hits you.”
If you’re the DIY type then automation is for you. Firstly, because everyone has different automation and customization preferences, preferred channels and target audience. Tinkering with specific tools will affect your chosen platform to your benefit.
There is a cause and effect scale. Some tools are subtle, others much less so.
For example, auto following on Instagram times out because you have an upper limit of how many people (45 in 5 minutes) you can follow in a certain time.
Twitter has an absolute follow limit (1000 per day) which is affected by the types of apps you use in tandem with your automation.
Facebook, on the other hand, doesn’t want you to follow “absolute strangers.” Your account may be locked without notice.
Linkedin tells you to buy a paid licence when you view/follow too many profiles.
Automation relates well to repetitive tasks, not specific issues (That’s why people hated automated customer service scripts).
Customizing social sites requires inner knowledge of how a platform works, it’s audience and particular advantages.
Automation platforms like IFTTT and Zapier require an overview of multiple platforms and how best to link them.
Free Tools – find them in tools
Types of Automation Services
You may have a Facebook business page, a Google profile or a Twitter channel – are they getting views?
Using the right elements, add-ons and chrome extensions turns a social site into an information silo.
Target advertising across the Google Network, Facebook and other social selling and global communication channels.
Find the people who want what you sell. Tailor your delivery to their specific needs.
Learn where your customers are, what they want, when…but there is so much more!
Don’t want the hassle. Let the right scheduling do it for you. It’s as easy as ABC
Account – Develop your channels
Business – Target a customer base
Customers – Deliver the message
Lets be clear – You want to automate quality, not quantity.
This is the trick! Nobody wants to be bombarded with rubbish, but many people outside your core readership/audience do have an interest in your field of business or topic.
It’s a question of balance.
1. Understand IFTTT.com – If you don’t know it, learn.
2. Use quality images, links and text – easier to reuse, reproduce + recycle.
3. Monitor and control your output – mistakes do happen, correct them quickly.
Note* It is easy to get banned, sin binned or slammed (account closed with no recourse to redress) for using social automation – yet most global players use it as part of their overall strategy…
Your audience is global-think bigger!
